CHUNKY GILET KNITTING PATTERN — iLE AiYE
A simple, relaxed and very easy-to-knit chunky gilet, designed in the distinctive iLE AiYE loose-knit style.
This is a great project if you love oversized, uncomplicated knitwear and want something you can make relatively quickly using 15mm needles.
The gilet is knitted in three simple pieces — one back section and two side panels — which are then stitched together. The construction is deliberately simple and forgiving, with the side seams allowing you to adjust the fit to your preference.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE DESIGN

The chunky gilet has a relaxed, oversized shape with a collared neckline and open front.
The pattern uses very simple construction and doesn't require complicated shaping. The two side panels are worked as mirror images, with simple decreases creating the shaping.
The side seams are intentionally flexible. You can try the gilet on before finally securing the seams and decide how open or fitted you would like the sides to be.

No problem. The pattern explains how to add extra rows to make the gilet longer, while keeping the shaping in the correct position.
